Terri Muuss, Author of "Over Exposed"

Let's Support Our Local Mom

By Andrea Bryan, Your Bay Shore PM April 18, 2013

Macaroni Family, I cannot wait to read this book, "Over Exposed, by our own Macaroni subscriber, Terri Muuss.  As a person who has met Terri, I know her work will be vulnerable, drawing from me many emotions.

We sometimes elect to cover events in our own lives with the lists of the busy parent: returning phone calls and creating schedules as if our last breaths depended upon the appointment with the orthodontist. OK, I'm being a tiny bit facetious.

Let's all make time to read her work, "Over Exposed".

On Thursday, she will be here:
4/25 - Seeds of Love's PARENT Stay and Play.  Come enjoy a reading from this incredible woman!

Muuss brings us close to what we might describe as the secret war, the intimate war, which resides in closed rooms, in seemingly ordinary homes. Yet these poems are written with such delicacy, such concern for image, for pause, and purpose—for, in fact, beauty. Yes, these poems and prose pieces turn on the beauty of poetry, of what art can accomplish. I bid you open the book. It is a miracle.
- From the Foreword of Over Exposed, Veronica Golos, author of Vocabulary of Silence and winner of the 2011 New Mexico Book Award
