Top 5 Things To Do In Bay Shore - Islip NY With Kids This Week

Every Wednesday, Macaroni KID Bay Shore shares our picks for five things to do with your kids over the coming week.

1. Snowflakes - Tiny Tots Program (Ages 3-5)

Tiny Tot Programs will connect children and their parents with nature through short walks, animal visitors, and crafts. $4 per child. Must register to attend. January 10, 10-11 am at Connetquot River State Park Preserve.

2. Free Play for All at Bayport - Blue Point Library

Children and their caregivers will have fun making new friends and sharing in imaginative free play with the many toys provided by the library. January 12, 9:30-11:30 am, no registration required.

3. Railroad Demonstration at East Islip Library

Drop-in to check out this large-scale train table setup by the knowledgeable volunteers of the Railroad Museum of Long Island! No registration necessary. January 13, 9am-5pm.

4. Winterfest Crafts at Brentwood Library

Drop in the Children’s Department between 12:00-4:00 pm to make a variety of wintery crafts, while supplies last, no registration required. January 13.

5. Owl Pellet Dissection Family Program

Explore the world of owls and learn how they hunt in the dark. Dissect a real owl pellet to discover what creatures are eaten by these fascinating birds! Using dissection tools, we will explore the diet of this nocturnal hunter. This program is appropriate for ages 8 and up! January 13, 1-3 pm, $4 per person. Registration required.
